Wedding Sarees Make an Indian Woman look Elegant and Luxurious

One of the most sacred and special occasions for Indian women is their wedding. The fashion in India for women for a traditional wedding is sarees which are not only worn by the bride but by the majority of her female guests as well. Sarees are still very popular among Indian women today. They are not only worn for weddings but for any other special occasion. You may no longer find Indian women who wear sarees on a daily basis or in the home but sarees are definitely the wear for special occasions.

Wedding Sarees are given a lot of importance and come in many different fabrics as well as designs but no matter the fabric or the design, they always have an elegant and luxurious look. Wedding sarees normally have a lot of embroidery and trappings on them. One of the most luxurious wedding sarees is the south silk sarees that are woven with golden thread that can from a few grams to approximately a kilo of gold if melted.

The traditional color used for wedding sarees in India is red. This is why the demand for red sarees is high. India has always been known for its bright colors. The color red has always been a part of its color. Red is the symbol of positive energy, passion, good health and vibrancy which is why it is the color of wedding sarees. As the symbol of love and affection, it is understandable why Indian women get married in a red saree. It is a common practice for the bride’s saree to be heavier than the sarees of her female guests which is why so much importance is placed on the embroidery of her wedding saree.

Wedding sarees are not complete without matching jewelry and accessories. These play a significant part in providing the bride with the perfect look for her auspicious occasion. The way her saree is draped is very important to a bride. Most wedding sarees are draped to compliment the bride’s looks, personality and shape of her body.

Once the saree has been draped, attention is shifted to the blouse which in essence completes the saree. Her wedding saree is incomplete without the blouse. If the blouse is not heavily embroidered, it is most likely to have sequence on the arm and the back.
